Program philosophy
At Kiddie Company Daycare Centre we believe that children learn through their involvement with their environment; the people the children are exposed to on a daily basis, the play space they are in and the activities that are provided for them.

At Kiddie Company Daycare, we believe in a holistic approach to providing learning experiences that provide children with hands on experiences that allow them examine and explore at their own pace. Our philosophy centers on the "whole child". Children are respected and accepted unconditionally, regardless of family dynamics, ethnic background or origin, culture, socio-economic status, or physical or mental challenges. Our program is implemented through the ‘learning through play philosophy. Children learn through direct interaction with their environment. Keeping this in mind, it is our intent to offer challenging activities in which the children are enabled and encouraged to be actively involved in learning.

Delivery of Program
At Kiddie Company Daycare, we believe;

- Each child is an important individual with varying and changing needs, capabilities, and interests - Each child is viewed as a "whole", developing at different rates in all aspects; physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, cognitively, socially, emotionally and in the use of language. Each aspect of development is of equal importance. The relationship between each of the developmental areas is critical.

- A child learns best in an atmosphere of trust and encouragement. Also, a child learns best in an environment which encourages their safe exploration through the senses as they play.

- The family has the most critical influence on the child's development. It is essential, then, that the early childhood educators develop an effective partnership with each child's parents.

Our program will be based on the emergent curriculum play philosophy. We believe that children learn best in a hands on, open ended, supportive play environment that is based on their interests. Children will have access to a variety toys, equipment and play materials that will allow them to explore and learn new skills.

We provide a wide variety of toys and play centers. Those include dramatic play, sand, water, blocks, creative art, library, floor and table toys, and fine motor activities. Our trained caregivers incorporate live piano music into the programming.

Goals and Objectives
Our quality programs for each age group are based on children’s interests.

Field trips

Exploring the outside world is an important part of the learning process. Field trips provide children with first-hand experiences and opportunities to observe, explore and ask questions. The children go on frequent trips off the center grounds to various neighborhood parks and attractions, such as Edmonton Valley Zoo, Millwoods Public Library, Meadows Recreation Centre, Police, and Fire stations.

Parental Involvement
We encourage and welcome parental involvement in the daycare. Through parent/staff interaction, we provide an environment that will benefit the children. The daycare plans and organizes special events for parents, such as Mother’s and Father’s Days tea, Christmas Party, etc. We also have an open-door policy and invite parents to visit the daycare centre at any time
